Tehama County Supervisors plan to sue to limit state recovery of indigent care costs for 1971 72. They object to a $76 000 demand while agreeing to $214 000 Medi Cannabis contributions and a budget of $29 089 for indigent care. If unresolved the issue goes to District Attorney Henry Goff. Living Costs and Wages Rise in August Despite Freeze
The government reports August gains in living costs and wages despite Nixon wage-price freeze. Living costs rose three tenths of one percent driven by gasoline, while wages for about 45 million workers increased two cents per hour and $1.43 weekly to $129. Purchasing power edged up seven tenths percent for the month and 1.1 percent from a year earlier. The CPI reached 122.2 relative to the 1967 base.
