Up to 250 U S combat planes swept into North Vietnam under light to moderate antiaircraft fire and launched heavy strikes not seen since the bombing halt nearly three years ago. Fighter bombers flew about 200 strikes against military targets as North Vietnamese forces amass near the DMZ. Judge Curtiss Wetter Collapses In Tehama Court
Judge Curtiss E Wetter was hospitalized at St Elizabeth Hospital after collapsing at the Tehama County courthouse. Fire crews quell three to four acre Manton blaze
Forestry Division crews from California DFO Tehama Ecology Corps and Crystal Creek Conservation Camp joined forces to battle a three to four acre fire behind Manton School. Ten Division trucks a bulldozer and shovel crews worked since about 7 p.m. Mop-up crews remained on scene.
