Air and ground forces battle five acre mountain fire near Red Bluff
Scores of fighters toiled by land and air to contain a five acre forest fire in rugged terrain 22 miles east of Red Bluff. Two helicopter crews and three airplanes assisted ground crews. a mop up crew was to be trucked in today. A separate three acre brush fire at Hubbard Turkey Ranch near Corning was halted by firefighters. The cause was rubbish burning per a State Forestry report. The Antelope School District Board of Trustees will meet at 8 p.m. at Berrendos School to discuss readvertising the budget.
