President Nixon urged Congress to enact about 50 administration proposals in a 15,000 word State of the Union message. He pressed for inflation relief, a balanced budget, and tax reform while warning against higher taxes and budget busting bills. Crusade Directors Pledge 3,577 Of '73 Campaign Goal

Tehama County United Crusade board reports pledging 3577 dollars or 10 percent of the 35000 county goal. Board members average 127.76 dollars each and aim to meet the 1973 objective. Eleven agencies including the Opportunity Center and Scouts will receive funds.

Raymond Richard Arendale, 76, of Corning, died from injuries after a Saturday night collision on West Solano Street near the Safeway. He was a passenger in a car driven by his stepson James Curtis Mays. driver Roy Moon and passenger Ruth Arendale also injured. Tehama Board to Consider Private Street Standards

The Tehama County Board of Supervisors will meet at 10 a.m. to consider private street and road standards in the supervisors chamber at the county courthouse. At 11:30 a.m. they meet Red Bluff Cemetery District trustees over Oak Hill Cemetery complaints and at 1:30 p.m. with the Employees Association, Deputy Sheriffs Association and Operating Engineers Local No. 3 on proposed employer employee rules.

Forest Revenue Funds Returning To Counties

More than 20 million dollars in National Forest revenues will be returned to 13 Second Congressional District counties for road and school purposes this year. Tehama County will receive 1,149,011.53 dollars, according to Johnson.

Red Bluff Junior Round-Up sets records with big turnout

The 1973 Red Bluff Junior Round-Up drew 426 entrants from Oregon, Nevada and California, filling seats for an estimated 2,500 fans. Flint Hemsted of Anderson repeated his 1972 boys all around title with wins in junior barrel race and goat tying. Cathy Castillo of Salinas claimed the girls all around by pole bending and high placement in barrel racing.

Weekend Fire Spree Keeps Tehama County Reacting

Tehama County engines fought 20 fires over the weekend. A Tyler Road outbuilding fire caused about 3500 dollars in damage and two acres burned. Arson suspicions surfaced in a Burn near Reeds Creek School and multiple grass and brush fires were battled along Cottonwood Bowman Road Lake California and near Foster Island.
