Corning Doctor Indicted On Tax Evasion Charges
In Sacramento a Federal Grand Jury indicted Dr. Irving Cooper of Corning and Robert Bishop of Oroville for income tax evasion. Cooper under reported over 30 000 of income to evade more than 16 000 in 1967 68 and 69. Bishop under reported over 110 000 to evade more than 49 000 in the same years. IRS Intelligence Division led the investigation. Cooper has practiced in Corning since 1963 with office at 1122 Solano St. Bishop runs Pony Express Trading Post on Myers St. in Oroville. If convicted, both face maximum penalties.
