Energy plan to cost consumers billions, Jackson says
Senator Henry M. Jackson, head of the Senate Interior Committee, estimates Ford’s energy tariff and price decontrol would cost at least 33 billion dollars annually for U.S. consumers. The plan could raise gasoline by 28 cents per gallon if price rises spread only to gasoline, and adds about 600 dollars yearly per family of four.
