A three day father son boat outing from Red Bluff to Sacramento along the Sacramento River is planned for June 1 to June 3. More than 42 participants with over 18 boats will fish swim and enjoy river scenery ending at Discovery Park Sacramento. John Deming will guide the group with Warner Clark arranging Red Bluff lodging. Participants must have a son a boat at least 12 feet long and a motor of seven and a half horsepower or more.

A city park barbecue plans 100 pounds of beans in the largest bean pot in California and 600 pounds of beef. Candidates include Steve Joiner, Glenn Cox, Dave Baba, and Dr. Harold B. Edwards.
