Refugee Relief Funds Depleted As Ford Seeks Urgent Aid

UPI reports the Ford administration faces a cash shortfall for care and resettlement of South Vietnamese refugees. State Department spokesman Robert Funseth says $327 million is urgently needed, with 117 500 refugees already evacuated and 13 000 more in the U S. The plan includes admitting 30 000 refugees at sea and airlift operations to Subic Bay. The House refused the requested funding.

Indians surrender after park plant takeover in Wagner South Dakota

Seven Sioux activists seized Yankton Sioux Industries pork plant in Wagner injuring one watchman and prompting curfew and school closures. After teargas and gunfire, inmates surrendered as FBI secured the plant. six suspects from Wagner Lake Andes Marty and Jesse Costello among those arrested.

Japan to permit U S nuclear weapons on its soil in emergencies

Rockets Hit Jerusalem. No Casualties Reported

Two Russian made Katyusha rockets exploded in Jerusalem early today causing window damage in New Shaanan near Hebrew University. Police found a crater near the university and the residential quarter as a second blast was heard but its exact site was not located. Rockets last fired into the city in May 1974.
