Two Huey helicopters crash killing ten Army crewmen
Ten Army crewmen were killed in two UH 1H Huey crashes over the weekend. Seven died when one helicopter hit Aiken Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest near Blairsville Georgia. Two others survived. Three more were killed in a second crash during a thunderstorm while a field training exercise. No survivors from the Saturday night accident.

Elderly Gerber Man Killed Crossing Highway
An 81 year old Gerber man, Cecil Cates, was struck and killed by a southbound car on Highway 99E near Los Molinos at 12:05 a.m. The driver Rex Fuller, 21, of Riddle Oregon, could not avoid impact.
