Shrinking Budget Surplus Narrows for 1969

Washington AP reports the fiscal 1969 budget surplus once at 2.4 billion is shrinking toward 1 billion or less as Nixon faces possible deficit risk. Budget Director Mayo says savings efforts largely negative and Johnson programs may have underestimated costs threatening the remaining surplus.

Powell and Berridge Named to Tehama Totem Fair Board

Governor Reagan appoints George L. Powell of Corning and Roy D. Berridge of Red Bluff to four year terms on the board of directors of the 30th District Agricultural Association which runs the Tehama Totem Fair. Powell is a plant manager and former local official. Berridge is a forester and former Chamber of Commerce leader.

Tehama County seeks 148000 flood repair funding

The Tehama County board of supervisors received an Emergency Flood Relief Law application from county engineer Larry Coleman detailing 148000 in bridge and road repairs.
