William C. Kestner of 155 Main Street Red Bluff dies at a local hospital after a lifetime in merchandising and leadership as president of Norvell and Hunter Mews Furnishings. He was a Red Bluff Elks member and active in the Chamber of Commerce. Survived by wife Alta, son Phillip in Nigeria Africa, brothers George and Harry, and four grandchildren. Funeral at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ficks ert Mason Chapel with private interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Five Tehama and Glenn County youths suffered weekend traffic injuries in single and multi car crashes. Gary Felix 17 Gerber in satisfactory condition at St Elizabeth Hospital after his 1967 Chevrolet Camaro left a curve on South Jackson and overturned. Debra Whitley 16 Red Bluff slightly injured when her car ran off Pine Creek Road. Jonathan Woo 14 Orland major injuries after colliding with a dune buggy driven by Daniel Cufaude 19 Orland. Larry Caughey 16 Red Bluff and Andrea Lynn Swartz 16 Gerber were unhurt with minor vehicle damage to Swartz and Billie Jean Thuemler 35 Red Bluff.
Red Bluff hosts Tomorrow Coffee Day for the Heart Fund with nine local restaurants donating coffee proceeds. Customers will contribute at a collection container, benefiting Tehama County Heart Association activities such as fourth grade heart screenings and emergency resuscitation demonstrations.

Sheridan Wyoming AP reports the Crow Indian tribe performed a five hour rain dance to save a Sunday snowmobile race in the Big Horn Mountains after high winds melted the course. Three inches fell in the valley and six inches in the mountains.
