Man Fights Auto Firm Over Seized Car in Tehama County

Blandini of Red Bluff filed suit in Tehama County Superior Court claiming Hankins Motors attempts to sell his 1965 Lincoln for unpaid repairs. He says the car was not properly repaired, delivered in poor condition, and later stored outdoors while bills of 260.08 and 16 accrued. He paid 2550 in 1969 and seeks relief from the sale. His attorney asserts the vehicle remains unsafely stored.

California ends non surveyed land divisions under AB 1301

Tehama County planning director Robert Mc Cullough explains AB 1301 requires parcel maps for all land divisions and sets minimum parcel sizes to match the general plan. Small Spot Fire Doused Near Corning

One unit from the Tehama County Rural Fire Dept. extinguished a small leaf fire near Gallagher and Toomes Roads in Corning. No damage occurred at property owned by Clifford Rypka. Additional units and volunteers were dispatched but not needed.

A 17 year old boy was taken into custody yesterday by Corning Police and charged with furnishing and possession of a restricted drug to other juveniles. He was booked into Curtiss E Wetter Juvenile Hall in Red Bluff.

Welfare Reform Brings New Forms and Heavy Paperwork

Tehama County welfare director Mrs. Marinoff presented supervisors with WR2, a 19 page form required for all welfare program applications. She said completion ranges from one to seven hours. Supervisor Lalaguna plans to forward the packet to Governor Reagan for his view. The board also agreed to review pre employment physicals for prospective county workers and to draft an ordinance amendment through District Attorney Henry Goff Jr.

Corning Hikers Prepare Charity Walk Across Town

Corning Hikers plan a 20 mile charity walk Saturday for the March of Dimes. Marchers meet at City Hall at 8 a.m. and travel to Woodson Bridge and River Park before returning via Solano Street Highway 99W and South Avenue. First to finish wins a prize, plus a March of Dimes trophy. most money raised also earns a prize. Lunch at the park. Corning Junior Women's Club sponsors with first aid stations. Cochairs are Mmes. Dental Drugs Found In County Jail

Deputies discovered several vials of oxytecaine possibly smuggled by a prisoner after a hospital visit at Tehama County Jail. Fingerprints are on file and interviews of inmates have taken place with no further action yet. Police investigate a Richfield home ransacking, a Sunsweet Company Plant burglary in Corning, and a car window smash on Aloha Street. James Lesher, a Eureka college student, is the reported victim. County Schools Unification Report Now Available

Tehama County residents vote June 6 on unification of Red Bluff High or Corning High along with feeder elementary schools. County Superintendent Lou Bosetti notes the informational report explains mechanics without advocating, and groups may arrange presentations via Mrs. Schoelen at 527-5811.

Damage suit filed in Tehama County court for 200000

Sara Lee Strecker files a 200000 damage suit in Tehama County Superior Court alleging Cindy Ann Gumm was negligent after a two-vehicle collision 3700 feet north of Hooker Creek Road on Interstate 5 on May 28. She seeks general damages plus court costs and special compensation. A separate 100000 suit was filed by Frances Stanton against Short Stop Markets for a fall in a Red Bluff store.
