County Agricultural Commissioner Edward L. Dietz reported 1968 crop and livestock value at 24,923,300, the highest on record, with fruit and nut crops surpassing livestock for the first time. Olives topped 3 million, walnuts and almonds set new highs, sugar beets and sudangrass showed changes, and beef cattle rose in numbers and value.
