State Tax Increase Predicted in Budget Talks
Democratic Assembly Speaker Bob Moretti said he would negotiate with Assembly Republicans to pass a $7 billion budget by the June 30 deadline. He projected a tax increase of about $500 million to balance the budget, amid GOP pressure on welfare reform and school finance.
