Four Vehicle Accident Kills Redding Driver
A 22-year-old Redding man was killed and three others hurt in a four car crash on State Route 99E near Englehorn Avenue. Wayne E. Brotherton died when his northbound car crossed the center line and hit Marion Helwig of Gold Hill Oregon, with the impact sending debris into three additional vehicles. Two other drivers, Tom Cummings of Tacoma and LaVerda Bagwell of Chico, sustained injuries. Cummings received hospital treatment for a severe wound while Bagwell and her son reported minor injuries.
