Man Arrested After Stabbing Near Woodson State Park
A 30 year old Corning man was arrested early Saturday on a charge of assault with intent to commit murder after a stabbing near Woodson State Park. Donald Dean Puckett was released on 2500 dollars bail. Victim Lee Andrade, 24, conserved injuries with a heavy coat possibly saving his life. Witnesses said a party and drag races preceded the fight that led to the incident. Three theft reports from the weekend were also recorded by sheriffs deputies.

Red Bluff Police reported the arrests of two more juveniles, aged 16 and 17, linked to December 21 Bert Durand and January 14 Mahdeen Smith home burglaries. In total five youths face charges, with the 16-year-old charged with two burglary counts and the 17-year-old with one burglary and one forgery.

Saturday Fire Alarm Tests and Blazes Keep Red Bluff Busy
Red Bluff firemen fought four structure fires on Saturday plus a planned drill at 2046 West Walnut Street with Gerber Fire Protection District and others. Fires at 230 Kay Street damaged a bed and wall with about 500 dollars in losses, an abandoned Oak Street garage burned to the ground, and a trash receptacle fire at the State Theater caused no reported damage. Robert Wyrick saved part of his home by using a garden hose to control a flue fire. The investigation continues on the undetermined origin garage blaze.
