Ordinance Rewrite Chairman To Talk At Taxpayers Meet

Zack Farmer, chairman of Tehama County Subdivision Committee, will explain provisions of the county land division ordinance at a taxpayer association meeting Monday night. The interim ordinance runs until Feb. 17 and the public may ask questions after the talk at 8 p.m. in the Red Bluff Farm Bureau office.

Former Resident Guilty of Multiple Sex Crime Charges

A Shasta County jury found William Bruce Roy a former Real Bluff resident guilty of burglary kidnapping lewd conduct with a minor forcible rape and participation in oral copulation. He was arrested in Redding after an alleged Sept. 15 attack on a 9 year old Olinda girl.

Obituary Edward Thomas Davies 57 Mineral native dies in hospital

Edward Thomas Davies 57 a Mineral administrator for the National Park Service died last night in a local hospital. He was born in Selma and lived in Mineral since 1953. He is survived by his wife Gertrude two daughters Jacqueline Lade rech and Betty Harmina two sisters Naomi Wosky two brothers Warren and Sherman Davies seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited Sunday at Hoyt Cole Chapel. Requiem Mass will be at Sacred Heart Church Monday at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Five Teens Held After Corning Police Custody

Four youths from the Weott area including three 16-year-olds and a 14-year-old girl were taken into custody by Officer Virgil Hite at 12 45 am. They are accused of stealing a 1968 Plymouth Station Wagon in Garberville and siphoning gasoline to complete the trip. The group was taken to juvenile hall in Red Bluff and held for Humboldt County deputies in connection with a string of burglaries.
