Fire near Nixon estate contained after Pendleton blaze
A brush fire driven from Camp Pendleton burned 1 880 acres in San Clemente and the base, destroying 15 houses and damaging six others in hillside neighborhoods valued at 50 000 to 100 000 dollars. Officials said a complete control line surrounds the fire and winds have died down. La Casa Pacifica was not endangered.

Youth Burned In Gasoline Horseplay In Red Bluff
