Man Sought By Sheriff Turns Self In To Police
A 31-year-old Red Bluff man, Gary Lloyd Amos, turned himself in at Clayton Police after a warrant was issued for alleged child stealing. The incident began when he allegedly abducted his seven weeks old son from the mother’s Antelope home at 6 40 a.m. Wednesday wielding a cocked pistol. He was booked in Martinez and bail set at 15000, with transfer back to Red Bluff planned.

Sheriff's Department investigates thefts and burglary reports
The Tehama County Sheriff's Department reported two grand thefts and a burglary yesterday. Donald Williams of Corning said eight track tapes and $78 were stolen from his locked vehicle, total loss $182. Charlotte Clayton of El Camino reported a skill saw and a six month old call for a $235 loss. William Henry Martin of Corning reported a pistol and money taken from his stepfather's property nine miles southeast of Corning and south of Woodson Bridge. Stephen McCabe of Vina said two ice chests and a fishing pole were taken from his front porch. Each filed reports at various times yesterday.
