First Ecology Corps Center Planned Near Red Bluff
Governor Reagan creates the first state ecology center via the Ecology Corps to be based at Plum Creek in Paynes Creek area about 25 miles east of Red Bluff. Two Return From San Quentin To Face Slaying Charges
James Alvarez and Roberto Sandoval, indicted by the Tehama County Grand Jury in the Plum Creek slaying of Benjamin F. Ramsey, were brought back to Red Bluff from San Quentin State Penitentiary and will be arraigned in Tehama County Superior Court. Sandoval faces murder charges and Alvarez is charged as an accessory. Steven Ralph Potter, 17, was injured when a motorcycle collided with a station wagon driven by Pamela Ann McCabe, 18, as she turned left on Highway 99E near Orange Street.
