Five To 25 Year Term In Robbery Kidnapping
Floyd Edward Jones alias Neil Floyd Curtis, 38, of Chester, was sentenced to five to 25 years in state prison for robbing and kidnapping Donna Mae Heninger near Red Bluff. Jones plans to appeal after denials of motions for a new trial and stay of execution. In other actions, Harold Lloyd Hall's probation was reinstated with restitution difficulties, Edwin Jean Hosler received a year in county jail for supplying minors with alcohol, and Walter Brisebois faces a June 15 trial in Windsor for allegedly intimidating a train by parking on CN tracks in protest of a crossing delay.

Corning Buses Damaged and Hoses Stolen
Corning police report damage to several Corning Union High School buses over the weekend. A maintenance man says a fire extinguisher contents sprayed inside one bus, another had a light and two windows smashed, and two gas caps were stolen from a third. Yard hoses and sprinklers were taken from two local residences on Sunday night, including a 50 foot hose and sprinkler from Willard Carlile at 1450 Fourth Street and a 75 foot hose and sprinkler from Boyce Brown at 1224 Fourth Street.
