Fighter Bombers Hit Missile Sites In North Vietnam
U S fighter bombers attacked surface to air missile sites deep inside North Vietnam and along the Laotian border. The raids marked the sixth protective reaction strikes this week and the 27th this year amid a day of heavy air activity. Ground fighting remained light as the nine day old operation in the A Shau valley continued. About 30 B52 bombers dropped nearly 1 000 tons on supply routes depots and infiltration corridors in the upper Laotian panhandle and surrounding areas. Two F105 fighter bombers were reported.
