Red Bluff Round-Up: Cowboy Playday and Parade Weekend
The 51st Red Bluff Round-Up features a Cowboy Playday at Tehama County Fairground arena from 9 a.m. with Jack-Pot Team Roping and a cowhorse contest. Admission is 1. Theft of cosmetics and burglary probe in Red Bluff
Red Bluff police investigate a Tuesday night theft of $300 in cosmetics from a car owned by Dusty Haka parked at 165 S Main. Investigators also probe Wayne's Auto Shop at 205 Jefferson St where the front door was forced and blank checks were stolen.

Redding Boy Rescued From Abandoned Gold Mine
Two 16 year old boys exploring near Old Shasta fell into a 100 foot shaft in an abandoned gold mine. Greg Meyer was rescued after about two hours with multiple injuries and taken to Mercy Hospital in guarded condition. Kem Lloyd helped and summoned rescuers as deputies and firemen lowered a paramedic and litter to reach Meyer.
