Red Bluff Round-Up Celebrates Golden Anniversary Attendance Tops 17000
More than 17 000 attended the Red Bluff Round-Up over the weekend as the 50th anniversary rodeo drew top professional cowboys, turning the two days into a three day event. Leo Camarillo received the Roy Owens Memorial Award and was named All Around Cowboy for competing in team roping with his brother and steer wrestling. Winners across saddle bronc bareback bull riding steer wrestling calf roping team roping girls barrel race amateur events and track contests were decided by overall points with Friday and Saturday results sometimes overtaken by the final tally.

Narcotic Arrests In County Drug Ring By Red Bluff Police
Red Bluff police ended a month long probe with eight arrests on narcotics charges. Undercover agents aided the investigation and more arrests were anticipated. Individuals named include John Carmelli Gilbert Knowles Richard Buck Gary McCoy Michael Halstedt Thomas Henderson Wayne Carpenter and Gary Marlin. Several defendants surrendered to the district attorney and were released or scheduled for hearings with bail or recognizance. All charges are felonies and reflect sale of marijuana heroin or dangerous drugs.
