Cattlemen Prepare Tehama Field Day at Jelly Ranch
The Tehama County Cattlemen's Association hosts a full day at Jelly Ranch north of Red Bluff with morning talks on cross breeding culling and marketing followed by an afternoon of working horse demos and a Ladies Only steer guessing contest. Steak dinner is $3.50 and ground beef lunch $1. Public invited to see pasture production and top cow working horses competing for a champion’s trophy.

Bard Saunders Named Tehama Totem Fair Secretary Manager
Bard Saunders 42 of Red Bluff was chosen unanimously by the Tehama Totem Fair Board to replace Joseph Soares as secretary manager. Saunders, longtime Red Bluff Daily News advertising chief, will assume the post in two weeks. The board also seeks 450,000 for paving and electrical work in the fair’s first building plan phase for 1971 72, and approved booth concessions for local groups along with arena and grandstand updates.

Gerber Man Injured In Highway Mishap
Eric Jerome Peterson 23 of Gerber sustained head cuts after a crash on Tehama Road when he swerved to avoid a vehicle and his car ended in a pond. Passenger Jimmy Keaton 25 reported a head bump but declined treatment. Peterson was treated and released at St Elizabeth Hospital.
