Shed Destroyed Near Elder Creek Fire Damages Car
A shed at the Pacific Soap Company burned down near Elder Creek at Tehama Road causing $150 damage. California Division of Forestry sent three units and El Camino Volunteers to the blaze at 1 p.m. A car owned by Fred Hamilton of Vina sustained $25 damage from a backfiring carburetor at 3 p.m. Tires and fenders were damaged. Los Molinos and Vina division units also responded.

King Salmon Count Breaks Records With One Ladder
The Bureau of Sports Fishery and Wildlife reports record king salmon counts at Red Bluff Diversion Dam with one ladder in use. From March 6 to 20, 25 445 adult salmon were counted, up from 20 325 last year with two ladders. The left bank ladder is closed for construction and expected to reopen in about two weeks.
