Chester Liverpool Express derailed near Ditton eight miles from Liverpool on September 18 killing sixteen people and injuring fifty. Fire worsened the scene as several bodies were cremated in the wreckage.
The Republican National Committee will declare the New Jersey, West Virginia, North Carolina and California seats vacant and accept the resignations of Minnesota and Oklahoma committeemen. Secretary Hilles announced the action in New York.
Washington September 18 Col Roosevelt is scheduled to arrive Tuesday October 1 at 1 30 in the afternoon and go to the Capitol to testify about an alleged $100 000 campaign contribution by the Standard Oil in 1904.
