Interurban promoter writes Judge Hoskins predicting start of building the Dallas to Krum line via Denton early next year. Originating plan was Denton to Sanger to Gainesville but shifted to Slidell and Krum for better prospects after local visits.
Ek P Turner informs County Judge Hoskins that securing right of way is slow but progress is made toward building the Dallas to Denton rail corridor. He plans to begin early next year, surveys completed, and seeks subscriptions for preferred stock. Project may extend toward Sli dell, with possible routes through Lewisville or Grapevine.
The Milwaukee Goodyear Rubber plant store fire left seven dead and three critically hurt with a half million dollars in losses. Twenty four firefighters and others were injured. eight victi ms were reported missing but later unaccounted for. The blaze drew most city firefighting resources to the central business district.
