Murfreesboro Arkansas October 17 F G Farrell a blind Spiritualist was found guilty of second degree murder for encouraging through trance a death by own action pact of Mrs J T Turner and Miss Rhodi Carter in a sensational trial associated press dispatch revealed.
Mrs. William G. Ellis was found dead in a Chicago hotel room with a cut throat and two bullet wounds. Her husband, a Cincinnati leather merchant, suffered self inflicted wounds and claimed a death by own action pact. Police doubt his story and hold him for further investigation.
Chief of Police J. W. Ryan returned from Jeffersonville Indiana where an Indiana Reformatory inmate reportedly confessed to killing Miss Florence Brown in Dallas last July. The chief discounts the confession noting the suspect lacks knowledge of Dallas and eschews the July 28 date, but trusts the real killer will be found and arrested.
Plymouth notes Mrs. Eaton widow of Rear Admiral Joseph G. Eaton faces trial on murder charges. Prosecutors claim she acted from jealousy and killed him by poisoning his food.

Rockdale officials report seven coal miners trapped by a flood were found alive after an earlier fear they had drowned. Only one miner died in the incident as rescue teams worked to improve air and ventilation for possible further rescues.
In Rockdale at the Vogel and Lawrence coal mine two miles east of town a cave in caused by heavy rain flooded the shaft. Seven Mexican miners, working unpaid loads, perished hours after the cave in. Rescue teams could not identify the victims as bodies remain submerged. recovery could take days.
