The court recalled the November bond vote on a 300000 road bond in Justice Precinct No 1 after petitions urged delaying the election. Campaigning halted as the recall concluded the order, leaving a normal November Saturday with no election activity.
Denton county will collect inheritance tax this fall from the estate of Wm. Allen. The 2 percent levy applies to bequests to the Griffin nephews and a 4 percent tax on the Erwin family bequest. Most of the estate went to Allen’s wife and Georgetown University.

Col Sam Hawkins mourns Henry a famed cow pony in Northwest Texas and Western Oklahoma. Born to Hawkins and living with him for over half his life the 28 year old horse died in the county in his father's pasture. Henry aided cattle drives to Kansas and Junction City before aging into a family buggy horse.
