The Denton college board of regents met in Austin and estimated more than 200000 in two year maintenance and improvement funding. President Bizzell reported 415 students enrolled with many turned away due to dormitory limits, urging construction of a new dormitory. Regents include Lowery, Brackenridge, Capps, Coit, Garrett, Harben and Cameron.
Austin November 16 Pure Food and Dairy Commissioner J S Abbott has been notified by the Governor that he is to be reappointed for the next two years.
The Texas Commercial Secretaries Association adopted a resolution opposing repeal of the Hogg stock and bond law while supporting amendments. They also formed the Farm Life Commission of Texas with A Lindsey of Tyler as chairman.

Fort Worth reports the tenth juror, T. H. Bird, a 56-year-old Missouri farmer with five children, chosen this morning. Jurors are all farmers, married, and many with large families. nine jurors were seated by last night.

Fort Worth reports $2100 cash stolen from Wells Fargo at Union depot on Nov 8. Shreveport notes Carl Morris defeating Cal Tarver by foul in second round.

Washington Nov 16 The House Ways and Means Committee clerks are drafting democratic tariff revision bills. Democratic leaders, while President elect Wilson is in Bermuda, seek to decide if a general bill including wool, cotton, iron and steel schedules will be unveiled at the extra session announced for April, or if these schedules will be sent in separately. Disputes also attend the sugar tariff.
President elect Wilson announced after his inauguration he will convene an extra session of Congress by April 15 to revise the tariff. The move signals a swift push to adjust duties and shape economic policy through early legislative action.
Governor Wilson attempted to call on President Taft in New York but arrived after the president had left his hotel. Wilson then departed for Bermuda on vacation aboard a steamer.
The trial of Rev. Frank Norris on an arson charge was continued today to the February term of court.
Ernest Welch convicted of assault and battery for attacking Miss Lavalley. A Norwalk court slated his sentencing for Tuesday. Lavalley wept upon hearing the possible prison term, saying they once were sweethearts and she does not want him jailed.
