In Paso, May 28, Mexican Consul Liorente received a message from Albert Aguilar, head of the army at Torreon, denying the claimed rebel capture of that city.

H F McGregor reports denial of access to the delegate list as Taft supporters adjourn to a separate hall for the steering committee report.
Taft followers in separate convention adopted a minority report accusing the executive committee of unfair action for seating delegates without disclosure. About 300 men attended the Fort Worth gathering as C. K. Mebowe of De Ric served as temporary chairman before adjourning until 2 30.
The hall filled as Roosevelt followers met while the state convention gathered to organize. R. E. Haney of Kempstead was chosen temporary chairman. Lyon attacked McGregor and Taft followers as the convention, more attended than the Taft gathering, adopted the majority report. A county poll showed 169 counties represented with 171.5 votes.
