AP dispatch reports the Walveston Gulf causeway opening allowing Gov Colquitt to cross from the island to the mainland in a morning ceremony. The Texas Texas performance by Geo FE Mann is noted as presenting the bridge to the people with a parade of about two thousand autos following the opening.
Renato Bacon of Georgia told the Senate that the President lacks authority to send armed forces to Cuba and a resolution directs the Cuban relations committee to propose intervention legislation. Orozco summons troops from outlying sections to replenish ranks and resume the campaign. Parral was evacuated by the rebels today. Destroyed railroad bridges are believed to slow Federal pursuit for some time.
