Augusta May 24 The Georgia railroad is completely tied up as management says trains will not move until the state provides protection for property and employees. Strikers claim nonviolence while sympathizers have caused damage. Gov Hoke Smith orders deputies and cooperation of sheriffs to safeguard life and property. A note says train service will resume only when readiness to protect is assured. Guarded inaction follows ultimatums from Thompson county authorities. In other content an appeal for Dr King King's New Discovery for coughs and lung trouble is advertised with testimonials and price.
The third week of the Musketee townsite fraud investigation resumed before the Federal grand jury in Tulsa Oklahoma. Witnesses Rev Sol oman Metseker H H Ham and W H Mercer of Wauseon Ohio testified through the morning. The probe is expected to close by Wednesday or Thursday.
