Daingerfield Texas May 6 Associated Press Dispatch a reprieve kept Gus Finley a Black man from hanging for thirty days by Gov Colquitt unknown assailants burned two Black churches and one Black residence in Omaha Texas last night Finley awaited execution for the murder of a deputy constable scheduled today.
An express package sent from Washington to the Central National Bank of Oakland contained no money but clipped magazine pages of similar size and weight. The package, worth 14300 dollars in hundred-dollar bills, was seized at delivery, and authorities investigate the staged theft.

Dr. W A Jones, named Monday as a bondsman for J A Cole the photographer charged with assault to murder and carrying a pistol filed affidavit with Deputy County Clerk Edwards Fuesday morning asking to be relieved of liability and for a new warrant. The warrant was issued in County court Tuesday morning but the sheriff said Cole had left for Fort Worth on an early train and was expected back Tuesday night.
