Havana Cuba March 16 The Battleship Maine funeral services proceed as planned before the old hulk is towed three miles offshore and sunk by dynamite while taps echo.
Associated Press dispatch from Pittsburg reports Loretta Henderson testified she saw Rev. McFarland perform an operation on Miss Elsie Coe, the stenographer whose death is charged. McFarland denies the act.

New Haven March 16 The P and O liner Oceana capsized after a collision with the German bark Pisagua off Beachy Head in the English Channel. Forty passengers aboard the liner were mostly saved as lifeboats and life belts were used amid a rapid influx of water. Four passengers drowned and several crew members perished, with lifeboat chaos among panicked Lascar sailors.
