Senator Dixon, Roosevelt's campaign manager, denounces a local Telegram published this morning as a forgery. The purported message claimed Dixon endorsed a treaty stance and urged Democrats to come to their rescue. The telegram's authenticity remains unverified.
Sixteen year old daughter of W A Cotton near Mingo is very precarious with recovery in doubt. Other family members are quarantined but well. City Council authorized purchase of meningitis serum due to limited drug supply and a recent illness linked to a railroad bridge gang nearby.
Curtis Drug Store offers meningitis supplies including Dobell and peroxide pills and a variety of medicines. Popular items include good atomizers at 35 cents and 50 to 75 cents, Urotsopin tablets per dozen, Menthal Balm, laxative syrup in large bottles, and a note urging prevention with ordering by phone at number 52.
Theodore Roosevelt led the presidential primary in Missouri with 5 565 votes while William Howard Taft trailed far behind with 390. Robert La Follette and Albert Cummins received 55 and 6 votes respectively, as Taft faction plans a separate convention for national delegates.

Jim Minter was today sentenced to four years in the penitentiary for giving a $35 bribe to two Dallas policemen. He operated a blind tiger outside the saloon district.
The Strikers organized a large morning demonstration in Lawrence with thousands in Essex streets and factory pickets. Five arrests occurred as one woman was assaulted by a striker though there was no serious trouble.
The Attorney General states counties must pay quarantine expenses outside incorporated cities but are not obliged to cover city health officers salaries or any costs within incorporated areas.
Announcement Friday morning at the College of Industrial Arts said the quarantine lifted Thursday for eight weeks would be resumed shortly on Dr Evans recommendation. The news met with groans from about 300 students and apparent dismay though the isolation will begin Tuesday after a three day freedom period. The move is blamed on bad weather and new cases at McKinney and Mayo.
