Six people drowned when a motor launch upset on the river Thursday night at Edmonton Alberta. Earl Meredith a Sherman raised boy and Edmonton hardware firm superintendent was among the victims. He was recently married and on his honeymoon. his wife also drowned.
Senator Fall of New Mexico urged the United States to change its attitude toward warring Mexican factions. In New York on June 28 the Mohawk a two hundred ton fuel oil laden steamer exploded while berthed in New York bay. Five people died and five were injured with twelve unaccounted for believed rescued. A machinist helper is suspected to have started the blast by carrying a lit candle.
