Eagle Pass June 23 Major Alfred Valdez a deserter from the Federals was executed at Monclova yesterday by the constitutionalists. He was charged with plotting to assassinate Carranza.
Douglas Ariz June 23 General Pedro Ojeda Federal commander who fought three battles in and around Ortiz against Obregon is reported to have surrendered.
From Dr. M. L. Martin's North Denton garden comes the first cotton bloom reported this year. Martin planted his entire 1-15 acre plot on April 21. bloom appeared June 22, 60 days later, as he uses the garden as a demonstration. He hopes for about 100 pounds of seed cotton at a base to the acre, with rows spaced 3 1-2 feet apart, wider than typical Texas practice.
Associated Press dispatch from Little Rock Arkansas reports Judge George W. Hays still leads former Congressman Stephen H. Brundige by about 2000 votes in the gubernatorial primary returns. Brundige does not concede the victory.
Sheriff Orr received word Monday that Ted Dobson was arrested on aggravated assault charges from a Saturday night affray near Aubrey. Tom Reynolds was reported to be cut but not seriously injured.

The funeral of Vera Yarnell four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs B Yarnell was held Monday at the Central Presbyterian church with Rev Caldwell in charge. She had been ill about a month from measles pneumonia typhoid and a rising in the head. She died at nine Sunday and was interred at the Odd Fellows cemetery.
Attendance at the First Christian church Sunday school reached 284, 16 short of 300. Pastor Mr. Rogers said the deficit would be made up next Sunday and add 50 more. Other towns’ reports were not yet received by noon Monday.
In Ridgewood, Mrs. Edna Wagener sought to be champion dancer with husband Richard Wagner, a plumber. She danced four hours including the Tango and Boston, fainted, and died after returning home.
