Aviation test ends in fatalities amid crash

Lieut Leighton W. Hazelhurst Jr. of the Seventh Infantry and Alfred L. Welch, a Wright Brothers employee, were killed during a War department aircraft test when aluminum wings collapsed on a sharp dip and the plane crashed to the ground at the aviation field in Washington.
