Grasshoppers are seriously damaging the cotton crop in Blanco Gillespie Kerr and Travis counties as reported by AP Dispatch. In England W A Raphaels Bagalio won the Derby today at Epsom Downs.
Associated Press reports the battleship Arkansas struck an uncharted reef in Penobscot Bay during a training trip. The ship sustained hull damage but compartments reportedly saved the vessel with about fifty crew minor injuries.
Washington June 5 reports say new moves are underway to postpone the final decision on seating Lorimer until after the national conventions. The aim is to delay the vote and allow more time for consideration by the Senate.
Associated Press dispatch from Washington reports the Senate campaign expenditures inquiry for the years 1804 and 1908 will begin in July.
