Secretary of State McDonald will speak Saturday afternoon for Gov. Colquitt delivering his address at 2 30 on the east side of the courthouse. A former North Texas Normal graduate, he is a respected student and orator and regarded as a leading speaker for the governor.
Attorney General Lightfoot ruled that the new eight hour statute does not bar a workman on public works from voluntary overtime beyond eight hours. No worker may be compelled to work longer against his will.
The Royal Italian Guards Band headlined a successful Chautauqua season and a contract was signed at the Chamber of Commerce to bring Redpath Home Chautauqua back in 1913. Over 590 tickets already signed for next year, with 750 pledged season tickets target.
