A dry goods and apparel store announces a 15 day blowout sale of high grade merchandise. Everything is to be sold with no reserves to offer summer outfits at less than cost and two thirds off. The store will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday and reopens Thursday July 19 at 9 AM with doors to a grand bargain frenzy.
A sprawling promotional bulletin touts a 15 day sale with “world’s greatest bargain givers” Fleig Sale System. It promises thousands of bargains, stock of new merchandise at near cost, and invites customers from up to 100 miles to crowd a large store for cash conversions and price cuts.
A vintage newspaper ad lists various fabric yardages and prices including Persian White Lawn ten yards for unknown, Calico ten yards, Heavy Cheviots priced per yard, Clover Bleaching ten yards, Red Seal Dress Ginghams sixteen yards, Best Brown Bleaching ten yards, Silk Ribbon by the yard, and ladies vests. The piece highlights balance of trimmed hats to close out at customer prices.
White skirts now $2.50 each with some $2.00 options. All wool skirts and embroidery and lawn dresses featured. Oxfords and pumps discounted to $3.50, $3.00 and $1.45 to clear stock. Remaining sizes offered at $3.00 and $3.50, plus $1.15 to $2.65 for slippers and pumps while stocks last.
Pure Food Commissioner Dr. J. L. Abbott commends Gainesville women for cleaning up the town by ensuring restaurants soda fountains markets grocery stores dairies and slaughterhouses provide sanitary food. He credits local efforts plus state inspectors and hopes other Texas towns imitate Gainesville's example.
Birth in the city on North Bolivar Street announces a son for Mr and Mrs Fletcher Hussey. The Woman's Shakespeare Club will meet Thursday at 4 pm with Mrs G Lipscomb Jr. A telegram confirms the birth of a son to Mr and Mrs Bates in Chicago Junction Ohio. City Attorney Key filed a Sunday law violation charge against a local druggist. Two other druggists faced similar charges previously. Asbury A Abney, once a local newspaper man now in Eastland, is recovering from appendicitis and hopes to return to business soon. The City Equalization Board finished inspecting renditions with names starting W. City Secretary Smith says 700 to 5000 names may be notified to appear before the board to show cause for renditions raising values.

Watermelons, plums, peaches, beets, peas dominate shelves with wholesale and retail quotes. eggs, butter, turkeys, and ducks appear with multiple rate points. Grain and feedstuffs such as wheat, oats, flour, and bran show mixed wholesale and retail values.
