Mrs Marie Coleman a seronaut scheduled to fly at Poplar Bluff Missouri on the Fourth of July was killed when her parachute failed. She fell two hundred feet dying instantly as her associate balloonist proceeds with two days in town awaiting favorable wind and weather. The surviving flyer said Coleman had been like a mother to him for sixteen years of work together and he received pay for travel expenses to attempt the ascent.
F C McReynolds of Parvin reported wheat sprouting in his area due to continued rains. He said threshing would begin by Monday unless more rain falls.
