The bank reports loans totaling 300000 dollars funded by deposits from patrons. It says the institution serves the community by safeguarding savings and lending to productive local business people and farmers. The bank claims consistent service to depositors and borrowers.
The Denton County National Bank announces its officers and directors led by President W. B. McClurkan and Vice President J. L. Blewett. Cashier B. H. Deavenport and Ass’t Cashier R. M. Barns are listed along with D. R. Turner W. J. McCray J. F. Raley and Gc. H. Blewett as part of the governing group.
The KR L. Cole & Co grain elevator west of the Santa Fe track in Krum was discovered burning at 4 am. The elevator, valued at 5 000, was a total loss with 15 000 bushels of wheat scorched in adjoining tanks. Losses on wheat estimated 8 000 to 10 000. rain fell earlier, cause unknown possibly gasoline engine.
Commissioner Sweat, arriving from Plainview via Krum, stated there was no insurance on wheat in the granaries worth eight to ten thousand dollars. The wheat in tanks near the burned elevator turned into a soggy mass from heat, while two other tanks farther away remained unharmed.

A statement expected soon from President Huerta indicates he will relinquish control to Dr Urutia and go to the field against rebels. The move is viewed as a prelude to Huerta’s bid for the Presidency and election.
A slight earthquake struck Messina Italy today causing widespread alarm as residents fled to fields and felt underground rumblings accompanying the tremor. No injuries or damages are reported in the brief notice.

W P Brown and Frank Hayne of New Orleans Eugene Seales of Texas and R M Thompson of New York were reindicted yesterday for alleged violation of the anti-trust law in connection with the bullying of the cotton markets in 1909 10.
