Judge J. T. Bottorff Dies Suddenly at 54
Denton judge James Thomas Bottorff a longtime Denton bar member and early county resident died at home on West Street Saturday afternoon at age 54. He had been in ill health but the end came unexpectedly from heart trouble. He was a Trinity University and Texas law graduate, practiced in Denton since 1886, and served as court attorney and district judge. He held directorships in the Denton County National Bank and the Denton Milling Company. Funeral arrangements and bar association actions followed his death with pallbearers from his legal and business circles.
