The pulpit committee recommended Rev. M. E. Hudson of Fort Worth's College Avenue Baptist Church for the local pastorate. The call was ratified after a Sunday service, following the resignation of Mr. Copass. The church also endorsed raising funds to build a debt free parsonage on J. W. Cook land west of the church.
The funeral for Hon. D. C. Kelley a Legislature member from this county was held in Kaufman this afternoon. He died Saturday of meningitis. Attendees included many from the county and state. Representatives Savage from Bell and Lewelling from Dallas offered remarks.
The forecast calls for fair skies tonight with freezing conditions. Tuesday should be fair and warmer with clear conditions.
The Exchange National Bank announces relocation to the old post office building just south of its former bank to continue business until the new bank building is completed in Denton Texas.

Lewellyn drafts a house resolution urging action, Colquitt seeks border protections and a message to the Legislature. Taft advisement questioned. attorney general weighs neutrality law penalties. House lacks quorum with 71 present of 93 needed. speaker expects a roll call later.
In Austin on February 24 a legislative quorum is expected to resume work after health officials report no meningitis traces among twenty members. State Health Officer Steiner notes bacteriological tests on throat and nasal swabs found no infection and cites vaccine inoculation as a possible prevention of carriage.
Chicago Feb 24 The Federal government files a civil suit against Local Unions Nos 9 and 134 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The suit accuses officers and members of conspiring through violent acts to injure the Postal wire and disrupt government and interstate communications with the Postal Telegraph Cable company.
Walter Scott, representing J. B. Sneed, attacked Boyce as the persistent cause of his father's death and claimed he dug his own grave. He compared Beal Sneed's ideal home before his wife was taken by the serpent.
Report notes bodies found behind the penitentiary and a second encounter, with general belief the deaths were caused by a party in power. Ernesto Madero departs for Cuba as U S S troops mobilize. Britain refuses to recognize the present administration. ships arrive at Texas ports.
