An AP dispatch from Washington reports higher temperatures across the Eastern states today while colder air moves from the Midwest toward the East and South. Rains are forecast for the Southern states with snow in the North later in the week as the Weather Bureau predicts a cold spell.
Fire broke out Monday around noon in the cotton house of the Taylor Brothers gin during unloading. Officials believe a match or cigarette spark ignited the cotton. About one bale of seed cotton, valued at roughly 840 dollars, was ruined.
Richard Frayne, an aeronaut from Massachusetts, fell 2000 feet from a parachute attached to a balloon at the Tri-county fair in Jacksonville. A large crowd witnessed the tragedy yesterday.

Agitated Press Dispatch reports that the Supreme Court held Union Pacific violated the Sherman act by acquiring Southern Pacific stock. The ruling states the merger created a dominant power that suppressed competition between the two systems.
L T Millican company reports a small pox of builders hardware worth under ten dollars shipped from New York eight weeks ago is stuck between Denton and Galvester delaying final building turnover to the state.
