Married in Mexican style wedding in Texas

Toburcia Menchacaca and Concept Gonzalez, both non English speakers, were married in Dr Hill Rowe's office with Rowe acting as interpreter for Judge Hoskins. They had sought a Texas marriage license and, after translation challenges, the ceremony proceeded in Rowe's office to comply with state law.

Poultrymen Meet Monday Over Denton Show Location

Violations of Pure Food Law Charged in County Cases

Two complaints filed by the County Attorney under the Pure Food laws charge R L Leach proprietor of the Cottage hotel with possessing pie pie crust and pie dough unprotected from flies and contamination and P T Taylor a dairyman with selling skimmed milk. Inspectors Hoffman Browder and City Health Officer Piner investigated hotels and restaurants and ordered one small place closed for cleaning while tuberculosis tests flagged two suspicious dairy cows. Typhoid fever was reported at two milk suppliers and further checks were planned.

Teachers appointed to permanent place in Venton schools

Superintendent Beaty assigns 33 teachers for High School R E Lee Sam Houston and Stonewall Jackson schools with nine in the High School twelve in R E Lee six in Sam Houston and six in Stonewall Jackson plus three excluded. Over 1500 pupils expected from a town under 5000 population. School to open Monday at 9 with lists and text book distribution.

Horrible Deed of Mad Swiss Soldier

Associate Press dispatch from Berne reports a mad Swiss soldier named Schwartz who shot four men and wounded others in a Roman village. He barricaded his home as police and soldiers surrounded the area. During the siege shots fired killed and wounded several besiegers. Schwartz later escaped into the woods.
