An AP report from New York describes the discovery of a young woman murdered in a marsh at the northern edge of Manhattan. The victim had her throat cut, hands badly lacerated, and signs of a struggle. the body remained warm when found.
Kansas Missouri and Oklahoma suffered continued extreme heat with temperatures above 100 degrees reported at all stations and no rainfall on Sunday. The heat wave, lasting over a week, persisted across Kansas City Moc Aug 41.
Heavy rains spread through the Northern Central States and the lake region Sunday providing relief from the heat. The downpours did not reach far enough south to aid the corn belt.
Dallas August report notes no arrests have been made and authorities hold no new information. Police appear equally doubtful, with no guidance to warrant an arrest as the Brown murder case remains unsolved.

Mrs Emma Lively Hughston of Plano and her two year old child were killed when an auto carrying a family group was struck by an interurban at a grade crossing. Fred Hollers the fourth victim of the Mingo wreck died Monday at 1:45 PM after lingering for nearly forty eight hours. He had just turned twenty one on the day of the accident and suffered abdominal injuries similar to Earl Roark who also died. His mother and sister Esther were delayed traveling from Houston. Relatives from Lewisville and Mrs Frank Demar arrived with news and support. Funeral plans were not yet set at press time, but services were expected at the Hollers home Tuesday afternoon.
